Pakistan has entrusted the management of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib to the new institute. India had condemned this decision of Pakistan. At the same time, now the Ministry of External Affairs has summoned an officer of the Pakistan High Commission based in Delhi. Pak officials have reached South Block to appear before the Foreign Ministry.
Please tell that the work of maintenance of the gurdwara has been taken away from the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee and assigned to the new institution. The special thing is that there is not a single Sikh member in the new institute built for the maintenance of the gurudwara. Now the responsibility of Kartarpur Gurdwara has been entrusted to the Project Management Unit.
All 9 members of the project management unit assigned to maintain the Kartarpur Gurdwara belong to Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). It is said that ETPB is fully controlled by ISI, Pakistan’s intelligence agency.
What is Kartarpur Corridor
Kartarpur Sahib, one of the holy sites of Sikhs, is said to be the abode of Guru Nanak Dev. Gurunanak Dev breathed his last at this place in Pakistan. Earlier Sikh devotees used to visit the Kartarpur Gurdwara through binoculars, but the Government of India and Pakistan together have made the corridor.
