New Delhi: One is the Chief Minister as well as the Leader of the Opposition, while another is one of the opposition faces in Parliament. Two opposition leaders will be questioned together today. ED has summoned Aam Aadmi Party supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Excise police corruption case (Delhi Liquor Scam). On the other hand, Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra will also appear before the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha today to investigate the allegations of asking questions in Parliament in return for bribes (Cash For Query). BJP has already started making fun of the presence of two main opposition leaders on the same day. MP Nishikant Dubey, who has accused Mahua Maitra of bribery, posted on his X handle, “Two number two will present themselves on November 2.”
Former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and AAP leader Sanjay Singh are already in jail in the excise policy corruption case. This time Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal himself is on the radar of the investigative agency. In April this year, Kejriwal was interrogated by the CBI in the Excise police corruption case. Now it’s ED’s turn. Earlier this week, the ED summoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal has been asked to appear at the ED’s office today, November 2, for questioning in the Excise police corruption case.
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party has expressed fear of arrest for summoning Kejriwal for questioning. The party claims that this is a move by the BJP to silence the opposition. If Kejriwal appears today, he will be arrested. Not only Kejriwal but one by one West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijay, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, AAP MP Raghav Chadha – all will be targeted. BJP, That is your claim.
AAP leader Sourav Bharadwaj said yesterday that if Kejriwal is arrested, the state government and the Aam Aadmi Party will be run from jail.
on the other hand, Trinamool MP Mahua Maitra will also appear before the ethics committee of the Lok Sabha in the case of questioning in parliament in exchange of money today. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey alleged that Mahua Maitra questioned the Adani issue in Parliament in return for receiving money and expensive gifts from Dubai businessman Darshan Hiranandani. Supreme Court lawyer and ex-boyfriend of Mahua Maitra Jai Anant Dehdrai also supported this allegation. The Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha has already recorded the statements of these two complainants. Today is Mahua Maitra’s turn.
